Curriculum this week

Hey parents,

Some info about our curriculum this week:

Sundays: we are joining the Bethany 101 class on Sunday mornings. Students have been given a workbook with the info Stef is going over.

Small group: this week is our last night of Lee Strobel videos - tonight we're watching The Case for Faith. It's about Strobel's search into tough objections posed against Christianity. There are no pre-planned discussion questions for these videos, as we have been discussing questions the kids have, opinions on what they are learning, etc. If you plan on discussing this with your teen, a good place to start would be by asking them what 2-3 things they were most impacted by in this video and why.

Alive: This Friday (Feb 10) is our second session of the Plugged In video series. This one is called 'The Mind of Christ' and we will be discussing how we can strive to be like Christ in our thoughts and decisions. Some questions to ask your teen:
  • Last week we talked about staying “plugged in” to God. From what you remember, how are we spiritually more like a lamp and less like a cell phone?
  • What do you think it means to “have the mind of Christ”? Do you think it’s possible to think of things like God does?
  • Do you ever wish you could see what was “around the next corner” in life? Do you think God wants you to know what’s coming up next in life? Why or why not?
  •  Is it possible to know a lot about Jesus without following Jesus? What’s the difference between the two?
