Taking the sermon home

Here are some family discussion questions from today's sermon - visit our website to listen online.

1. What is a story from your life where you blamed somebody (or something) else for something that was your fault?
2. Why do you think we do this more quickly than take responsibility for our actions?
3. How have you seen blame destroy people’s relationships?
4. The ancient church had a practice of regularly confessing your sins to a priest. Do you think that is a good practice? Why/why not?
5. It seems that many of us today choose to “confess” and/or work though our problems with a psychologist before we think of going to a pastor. Why do you think we do this and what do you think the implications of this are?
6. How does being a Christian and understanding what Christ did on the cross stop us from blaming and encourage us to confess and take responsibility?
