Educating your kids during the strike

Hey parents!

Most of you currently have kids at home without an end in sight... if you want to help them get back into the swing of school while they aren't actually at school, here is a useful link for you. Each K-12 course in BC has a set of Prescribed Learning Outcomes (PLOs). Each course has a booklet for teachers that explains what their students need to be taught during the course of the year. Some of them can be quite wordy, but they do list everything your child will need to learn and are quite detailed. If you want your child (especially grades 10-12) to get a head start on their schoolwork, head to the BC government website (here's the link) where you can search by grade and course for all that information. You won't usually get a reading list, but it will give you a general idea what's coming up in those classes.

Happy home learning!
