Hey
everyone!
Here are all
the details you need to know about May Camp. PLEASE READ EVERYTHING!!!
Please meet
at the church between 1:45-2pm on Friday. The bus will be there so you can load
up your belongings and find a seat. The bus is leaving PROMPTLY!!! It will be stopping
for dinner so bring either your own dinner or money for food. Our estimated
arrival time at camp is 7pm assuming traffic is okay. Kayla and Daniel will be
in charge of the bus so please listen to their instructions. Please note that
the bathroom does not work on the bus so watch those drinks! I will be at camp
by the time you leave the church, so if there is an issue getting to the church
on time (because of a serious reason, not because you are disorganized!!) please call the church office 604-519-0123 and ask for Daniel. You can
always text or Facebook me too.
We will be
leaving camp on Monday around 12:30pm. We are estimating a 6pm arrival time. We
do not plan to stop for dinner but will take a rest stop at some point on the
way home. Drop off and pick up for camp is in the church parking lot.

Students and
parents are reminded that we do enforce the camp rules. Depending on the
severity of broken rules, students may be disciplined (e.g. asked to sit out of an activity), parents called, or
students sent home. There is no magic formula for this (e.g. a 3 strikes
policy) because it depends on what rule is bring broken. “Minor” rules will receive
a warning and phone call home before more serious steps are taken. Severe
misbehaviour may warrant that a student is sent home immediately. Please
remember that parents are responsible for bus fare if we send someone home. I
doubt we’ll have any issues but it’s worth the disclaimer ahead of time! I’m
thankful that our teens are generally well behaved and anticipate that nothing
out of the ordinary will happen J
Finally, the
theme for the weekend is “Shades of Grey” and Pastor Brad will be taking us
through some grey areas of the Bible where we don’t receive black and white
answers to follow. He’s covering a variety of topics and I’m really excited for
what he has to share with us!
