Sunday School - Modules

If you haven't read the blog lately, you may not know about the changes we are making to Sunday School this year. Instead of offering age-based classes for Grade 6-12 students, we will be offering 2-3 lesson options each week that they can choose from. The goal is to get students more excited about what they are learning as they are able to take more ownership over their choices. To read more about these changes, click here.

For the month of September, all grades will be meeting in the youth room as we learn how to properly study our Bibles together. Students should bring their own Bible from home. If they only have a children's Bible, or don't have one at all, they will be given a Life Application Study Bible free of charge! We want our teens and preteens to learn how to properly navigate their Bibles, and study Bibles have much more useful information than kids' Bibles or even teen study Bibles do.

Starting in October, we will be offering these lesson "modules" for students to choose from. They can sign up in advance this month (and at any time during the year - the sign up sheet and info will be at the Welcome Table in the youth room). If students don't sign up for lessons, they can decide which class to join when they show up for Sunday School. We are asking students to commit to what they sign up for - for example, if they choose a 4 week series on famous Christians throughout history, they should go to that class every week that they attend Sunday school during that series, instead of randomly attending a thankfulness class that's happening at the same time. I hope that makes sense! Feel free to contact me with any questions you have.

Here is the lesson schedule for October and November. If too few students sign up for any given series, we will cancel it. Otherwise, this is the schedule we are sticking to. December and January lessons will be available to sign up for in November.
